Rotary Cylinders

OptiMag Magnetic Cylinders

Excellent die-cutting results not only require an accurate flexible die. True-to-size magnetic carriers and anvil cylinders are equally vital. Only if all components are in flawless condition and perfectly adjusted, you will achieve premium die-cutting results.

PERFECT HOLD FOR YOUR FLEXIBLE DIES

Wink provides you with all you need – with outstanding quality and fastest delivery times. We use the latest high-tech equipment to manufacture high quality magnetic cylinders in all standard dimensions, as well as special formats, if requested by our customers. Our OptiMag cylinders stand out for their maximum precision, optimal adhesion and high durability.

ALL ADVANTAGES AT A GLANCE

  1. Hardened bearer rings and journals for maximum durability
  2. Magnetic area with optimum adhesion for perfectly fitting flexible dies
  3. Special, carefully cured adhesive prevents “bleeding” of magnets
  4. Cylinder body made of stainless steel for perfect cutting results without contamination
  5. Ground reference line for quick and easy die mounting
  6. Minimum tolerances in the gap and concentricity guarantee highest die-cutting precision
  7. Highest variability and efficient revision due to multi-part construction with removable bearer rings

CYLINDER CHECK

In order to guarantee flawless cutting results, we strongly recommend to regularly have a check-up and gap measurement for all your magnetic cylinders. By using various grinding and repairing techniques, your cylinders can be restored to their original condition in many cases.

Successful rotary cutting is heavily depending on the size of the “gap” (clearance). The correct alignment of the magnetic and anvil cylinder (with uniform initial tension) ensures trouble-free cutting and an excellent cutting result.

PROSEDÜR

We can provide you with a detailed inspection of your cylinders’ overall condition and dimensional accuracy. You will receive a measurement certificate with appropriate recommendations for each cylinder inspected. This service enables you to monitor the technical condition of the equipment and prevent quality losses.

Anvil Cylinders

Force creates counterforce, therefore every rotary die-cutting tool needs an appropiate counterpart to bring out the die-cutting pressure in an optimal way. In combination with our SuperCut flexible dies and OptiMag magnetic cylinders, our anvil cylinders ensure excellent cutting results.

MAKE THINGS RUN SMOOTHLY

Our anvil cylinders are characterised by their exemplary hardness and run-out accuracy. Whether you use a standard, plus or minus cylinder to compensate for a wide range of backing papers, thanks to its precision and ultra-fine surface condition, every Wink anvil cylinder is a quality tool that guarantees success. Anvil cylinders are available for all machine types, in all standard designs and, of course, special designs are also possible (based on drawings or samples).

PowerCut® Solid Dies

Our PowerCut® solid dies impress with their precision and durability. Each cylinder is manufactured using the latest CNC technology and adapted exactly to your individual requirements.

MAXIMUM POWER

For many applications in narrow web printing, solid rotary dies continue to be the first choice, e.g. for cutting very thick labels, cardboard packaging and non-woven fabrics. Our PowerCut® cylinders are convincing because of their precision and long life. Each cylinder is manufactured using the latest CNC technology and adapted precisely to your individual requirements.

DIMENSIONS

  • PowerCut® cylinders are hardened on principle and can be repeatedly reworked and resharpened
  • all common working widths and diameters are available, special sizes on request
  • standard hight of cutting lines is 1.2 mm, of course other heights and several cutting depths on one cylinder are also no problem
  • for easy waste removal we offer solid dies with spring ejectors (PinEject) and versions for blowing/suction (AirTec/VacTec)
Basis Data
  • the D2 version is made from tool steel and is well suited for kiss-cutting of standard papers and films and smaller runs
  • made from high-quality tool steel, the D3 variant comes with a significantly increased lifetime, especially suited for kiss-cutting and cutting-through in long runs
  • the D4 version made of special tool steel meets the highest standards and is the ideal choice for very long runs and particularly abrasive materials (e.g. thick PVC or metal foils)
  • Our Pro coating against wear significantly increases tool life. In addition, we also offer other special coatings, which are adapted to particular customer requirements. If desired, all PowerCut® cylinders are available with non-stick coating, which provides highly effective protection against ink and adhesive residues and thus makes for a smooth production process.

Ultrasonic Welding Anvil Cylinder

Wink can also supply you with suitable rotary tools for continuous ultrasonic welding in the narrow web sector. We offer the anvil cylinders required for this purpose in all standard working widths and formats and provide them with the desired outline, accurate to the micrometer.

YOU WELD, WE CARE.

Wink anvil cylinders for ultrasonic welding are made of high-quality stainless tool steel. They are hardened and can be reworked several times if necessary to achieve maximum running times. Ultrasonic welding is particularly suitable for the manufacture of medical and hygiene products such as face and protective masks. Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, the demand for such tools has risen sharply. We therefore guarantee you the shortest possible delivery times with prioritised scheduling. In addition, you will receive comprehensive technical advice and setup support from us.

ULTRASONIC WELDING PROCESS

In ultrasonic welding, mechanical vibrations are transmitted by a sonotrode to the material webs to be welded with pinpoint accuracy. An anvil cylinder provides the necessary counterpressure. The generated frictional heat welds the workpieces together.

Ultrasonic welding is very suitable for the production of medical and hygiene products such as face and protective masks made of fleece. However, other materials can also be processed, such as various plastics, composites, fabrics or foils.

Sheeter Cylinders

Wink’s multifunctional sheeter cylinders are available in various formats with different exchangeable cutting blades, e.g. for accurate perforating, cutting or kiss-cutting.

THE FINAL CUT

Our blade sheeters are available for all common machine types and, of course, also in special designs (based on drawings or samples). The tried and tested Wink clamping system guarantees cost-effectiveness, as the knives can be replaced and individually adjusted quickly, accurately and without any problems. We also stock replacement knives for all common designs at our warehouse.

AirTec Solid Dies

AirTec solid dies are used when waste is produced during the die-cutting process which cannot be grated off. In combination with compressed air and a suction device the AirTec ensures a smooth and clean production.

SAVE WASTE REMOVAL

AirTec cylinders are solid dies with compressed air connection. Via air channels inside the cylinder, the compressed air is guided to the cylinder surface with pinpoint accuracy. Die-cuts are blown out exactly and safely disposed of by a suction device, so that no waste remains between the cutting edges or in the material web.

APPLICATIONS

AirTec cylinders are mainly used for through-cutting particularly solid materials that are difficult to die-cut. But also the combination of several heights for simultaneous kiss-cutting and through-cutting of adhesive materials is no problem. We manufacture your AirTec cylinder perfectly according to your personal wishes and specifications. Due to the standard hardening of the cylinders we guarantee a maximum service life. Our cylinders can be revised and resharpened several times.

SUCTION DEVICE

The Wink vacuum funnel is used for the extraction of thedie-cut and blown away residues. A vacuum is generated by a separately connected vacuum cleaner and thus the waste is sucked off. The waste parts should not exceed a dimension of 20 mm to prevent the pipe from clogging. If the parts are larger, it is recommended that debris lines be drawn on the punching tool.
