Our flexible dies can be used both flat (on magnetic foundations) and rotary (on magnetic cylinders). The different applications can also be combined in one tool if required:
- Kiss-cutting
- Through-cutting
- Creasing
- Perforations
- Micro-perforations
Laser hardening is generally recommendable for cutting-through as well as for difficult-to-cut filmic materials in large runs.
The benefits:
Our high quality SuperCut flexible dies are produced using state-of-the-art CNC technology. We guarantee minimum tolerances, maximum durability and therefore optimum cost-effectiveness.

Wink offers three cutting angle types for common and special materials:
The base materials in the die-cutting process can cause great challenges for label manufacturers. There are countless types of label materials that differ not only in terms of material, but also in thickness and composition. In order to guarantee you perfect punching results, we work closely with the major material suppliers. To this end, we regularly test new materials in our laboratory with our own converting machine. Results and samples are carefully recorded and archived to provide you with advice and support even for the most complex applications.
In the basic version, our SuperCut flexible dies already impress with very high performance. For certain applications, however, it makes sense to further increase the tool life by applying special hardening treatments, such as laser hardening or MCR coating. There are also materials that can be converted more efficiently with special non-stick coatings on the die-cutting tool.
Rotary or flat usage:
Whether sticker sheets, presentation folders or inmould labels: our flexible dies can be used in almost all machines for any print format – simply, quickly and with maximum precision. The innovative technology ensures efficient inline production for kiss-cutting, through-cutting, perforating and creasing.
For inline die-cutting in sheet-fed offset presses, the flexible die is mounted in a free printing or coating unit instead of the blanket. The clamping system can be either quick clamping rails, adapter rails or a grooved gripper edge (for clamping in conventional rails). The impression cylinder is protected with a special protector plate. Our plates are successfully used in the sheet-fed offset machines of all well-known manufacturers, e.g:
Rotary die-cutting of inmould labels allows higher process speeds and many other advantages – inline and offline. In new applications, even the smallest circular elements (injection holes) can be accurately die-cut and vacuumed. With minimal production tolerances and special cutting line geometries, the high-precision die-cutting tools from Wink offer optimum conditions for die-cutting inmould labels with maximum efficiency. Typical machines on which our flexible dies are used worldwide are the Koenig & Bauer RDC 106 and the Heidelberg XL 105/106 (DD). A problem-free integration of our tools is also possible for other sheet-fed offset or die-cutting machines.
Finishing machines such as those offered by Bograma, Horizon or Rollem are often used for shorter runs in the digital printing sector. With little effort, these die-cutting systems can process a wide variety of printed materials, e.g. inserts, presentation folders, folding boxes, business cards, labels and products in the pharmaceutical/cosmetics sector. The die-cutting and perforating applications can be combined on one flexible die. For additional creasing applications a pair of tools is used. Due to the easy application with highest register accuracy, set-up times are considerably shorter and production costs are optimized.

Wink Non-Stick coatings for flexible dies minimise adhesive and ink residues on the cutting edge and die surface, ensuring an uninterrupted manufacturing process. The flexibility and magnetic adhesion of our dies are not at all impaired by our Non-Stick coatings.
We offer you four different Non-Stick coatings, which are optimised for specific applications. It is also possible to apply our Non-Stick coating on solid rotary dies and equipment (e.g. ink trays, guiderollers).
Important information for the use of dies with Non-Stick coating: Flexible dies with Non-Stick coating require a “running in” phase whereby the Non-Stick coating is removed from the tip of the cutting edge. During this “running in” phase the cutting/stripping result may not be perfect, but this is only temporary. After this process completely normal operation of the flexible die is assured.
State-of-the-art engraving and laser technologies empowered us to develope a new genera-tion of dies which enable you to die-cut envelopes even more efficiently. Our EnveloCut tools excel in highest precision and durability making them the perfect choice even for the most challenging applications.
Wink envelope dies are available as window dies, profiles and separators with variable geometry. They are suitable for all common machine types and magnetic systems and are available with various types of lay-on with a bent edge or pin system. Our envelope dies are manufactured using the most up-to-date CNC technology to guarantee minimum tolerances and extremely high longevity, whether it be standard window dies, ripper perforations or security cuts.

The MCR coating substantially increases the life of your flexible dies, making it the optimum solution for abrasive materials and long runs. Particularly in the processing of very abrasive materials and inks (thermal paper, opaque white, luminous inks) and long runs, MCR offers a considerable prolongation of lifetime.
